Chimay Gold was created and brewed at the heart of Scourmont Abbey by the Trappist monks to enjoy with their evening meals. It was previously a beer reserved for members of the monastic community, their guests and colleagues. For the first time since 1862 this beer is being made available outside of the monastery.
Despite the lower alcohol content compared to the rest of the Chimay range, Gold is still a highly fermented Trappist beer. Brewed with dried orange peel and coriander, this is a delightfully refreshing beer with a hop and spice aroma.
